{toc} ===CMS Website Configuration File Web Part=== This Web Part is used to manage the contents of the web.config file of the website. Application Settings used in the Web Part are defined in [WebConfig Application Settings|Web.config Application Settings]. [image|Figure 1: Web.Config Parameters|{UP}COR%20Images%2fWebConfigPartEditMode.png]{BR} [image|web.config 2|{UP}COR%20Images%2fWebConfigPartEditMode2.png]{BR} ====Access==== This Web Part is accessed by the [CMS Admin Panel]. ====More about the web.config file==== This Web Part cannot be used to configure CMS Roles that are allowed to edit pages. That function is covered in [COR Web Part Authorization Web Part|CMS Web Part Authorization], which defines the users and roles that have access to Personalize the website. This can be defined site-wide or per folder. Other functions that are tightly linked to the web.config file include: * [COR PersonalSiteConfig WebPart|Folder Configuration] is used by the COR Administrator to edit a subset of application settings for a folder. * [COR SoftwarePackages WebPart|Software Packages Configuration] configures the Web Part Libraries that are accessible to pages within a folder. The reduces the list of Web Parts that can be added to a page in Library mode. * [CMS Access Rules Web Part|Manage CMS Roles for Folders] provides a finer granularity to what functions (library, edit, design) that a CMS Role has access to pages in a folder. ===Edit Properties=== The Edit Properties include: * Admin Role: The Role that is allowed to view and edit the web.config file. * Show Database: this option is used to display Connection Strings to the administrator. Connection Strings should be private, unless you really need to see them. * Path: the path to the web.config file. The default is the website root, '~/'. However, since each folder can also contain a web.config file, you may override the default to set application settings for other folders. * Themes: a comma-delimited list of themes that the website is allowed to assign to the website. COR contains a number of different themes. However, most websites use one and can be limited by setting this option. * [COR Common Features|Common CMS Edit Features].
